Glass Fiber Geogrid Introduction
Glass fiber geogrid is a network structure material made of glass fiber by certain weaving process. In order to protect glass fiber and improve overall service performance, it is made of geotechnical composite material through special coating process.
Glass fiber geogrid is a new excellent geotechnical base material for strengthening pavement and subgrade. The product is made of glass fiber filament woven and coated. Glass fiber geogrid has the characteristics of high tensile strength, low elongation, high elastic modulus and excellent high and low temperature resistance. After surface coating treatment, it has excellent alkali resistance and aging resistance. It is widely used in the reinforcement of asphalt pavement, cement concrete pavement and subgrade; Both hard pavement and flexible pavement can be applied. Compared with traditional pavement, it can reduce cost, prolong service life and prevent road reflection cracks. Glass fiber geogrid can also be used for the reinforcement of soft soil such as railway, airport, water conservancy, dam and road base.

1) High tensile strength and low elongation - glass fiber geogrid is made of glass fiber, which has high deformation resistance, and the fracture elongation is less than 3%.
2) No long-term creep - as a reinforcing material, it has the ability to resist deformation under long-term load, that is, creep resistance is very important. Glass fiber will not creep, which ensures that the product can maintain its performance for a long time.
3) Thermal stability - the melting temperature of glass fiber is above 1000 ℃, which ensures the thermal stability of glass fiber geogrid during paving operation.
4) Compatibility with asphalt mixture - the materials coated by glass fiber geogrid in the post-treatment process are designed for asphalt mixture. Each fiber is fully coated and has high compatibility with asphalt, so as to ensure that glass fiber geogrid will not be isolated from asphalt mixture in the asphalt layer, but firmly bonded together.
5) Physicochemical stability - after coating with special post-treatment agent, glass fiber geogrid can resist all kinds of physical wear and chemical erosion, biological erosion and climate change, so as to ensure its performance is not affected.
6) Aggregate interlocking and limitation - because the glass fiber geogrid is a network structure, the aggregate in asphalt concrete can penetrate it, which forms a mechanical interlocking. This restriction hinders the movement of aggregate, so that asphalt mixture can achieve better compaction state, higher bearing capacity, better load transfer performance and less deformation under load.
Glass Fiber Geogrid Application:
Main uses of glass fiber geogrid:
1. The old asphalt concrete pavement shall be reinforced to strengthen the asphalt surface course and prevent diseases.
2. Cement concrete pavement is reconstructed into composite pavement to relieve reflection cracks caused by plate shrinkage.
3. Road expansion and reconstruction project to prevent cracks caused by new and old joint and uneven settlement.
4. The reinforcement treatment of soft soil foundation is conducive to the water precipitation and consolidation of soft soil, effectively relieve the settlement, uniform stress distribution and enhance the overall strength of subgrade.
5. The semi-rigid base course of the new road will produce shrinkage cracks, and the reinforcement will be strengthened to prevent the pavement cracks caused by the reflection of foundation cracks.
Construction method Glass Fiber Geogrid
1. Preparation:
Complete all joint filling, pit filling, foundation reinforcement and leveling layer laying.
2. Road surface condition
The road surface must be clean and dry with a temperature between 5 ℃ and 60 ℃.
3. Product preparation
The self-adhesive glass fiber geogrid shall not be kept in a dry environment to maintain its viscosity at the construction site.
